Active Electrical WA was established in February 2013 by Managing Director, Joe Barnes, and his wife Natasha. Today the senior leadership team also includes our Operations Manager Dayne Ferry.

Joe has a long and proud history as an apprentice, electrician and Service Manager for AB Tilbury Pty Ltd over 15 years. He gained valuable skills in the residential, commercial and industrial sectors, Project/Team Management and the construction and service industries.

After Natasha suffered serious illness in 2012, Joe ventured into business with a sense of purpose and determination. He wanted to create one of Perth’s leading electrical contracting companies delivering expert, high quality electrical solutions for clients. Joe strives for continual improvement with a keen eye on innovation and an ongoing commitment to employee training.

Dayne Ferry first joined the business in 2014, fresh out of his apprenticeship. Following 5 years of diligent service Dayne headed off to greener pastures before returning in 2022. Those intervening three years were spent gathering significant knowledge and experience in industrial automation and controls along with senior leadership and management expertise.

Today, Joe and Dayne, in partnership with all of our team members, are positioning the business at the leading edge of our industry. The focus is on the future needs of our clients and we are excited about the journey we are embarking upon.

They may not be values often associated with trade contractors; in our case however, these values reflect the essence of our being.
